Big 3D show in Minsk on Victory Day

05.05.2017
A big 3D show will be held in Minsk on Victory Day for the first time, Belarus First Deputy Culture Minister Irina Driga said at a press conference.

“A concert of the Victory Square 2017 TV project will be held in the evening on 9 May. The concert program will feature a themed 3D show that will be displayed on two buildings behind the Victory Monument. The show will be accompanied by the President Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. The Victory Day celebrations will begin on 6 May with a solemn meeting and a concert by Belarusian performers titled as “Belarusian Rail Station” at the Palace of the Republic. According to Irina Driga, this is a traditional event prepared by the Culture Ministry every year. “We do our best to make sure the concert program is interesting both for the war veterans and young people. We want everyone to feel the holiday spirit. This year we will see an unusual big music and theatrical performance,” she said.

The theme “Belarusian Rail Station” was chosen for a reason. The railway took soldiers to the frontline and then welcomed them back home. The image of the railway will be used to show the beginning of the war, its major milestones and its victorious end, the Belarusian first deputy culture minister said. The audience will be treated to a mix of war poems, songs and works by modern authors. The concert will feature the best Belarusian singers, drama theater actors, and arts companies of the Defense Ministry. A flower ceremony will take place in Victory Square early on 9 May as part of the Belarus Remembers campaign. The event will be attended by public figures of Minsk, representatives of young and children’s organizations, and public associations. Stands will be installed for war veterans in the square.

The ceremony will be followed by the Den Pobedy (Victory Day) singing event. A concert of the Victory Square 2017 TV project and a fireworks display will wrap up the celebrations in the evening on 9 May.
