Culture minister meets with Belarusian diaspora in Minsk
According to the culture minister, Belarusians have a lot to share and talk about: “It is important that such events mean cultural diplomacy. Today there is a lot of information that does not reflect reality, has a fake component. We counteract these approaches in different ways, but when we meet in person, people can see and appreciate the life of Belarusians. I am convinced that this is the best way to convey truthful and fair information. We hope that our colleagues will see the best of our country. They will convey it objectively and fairly to the people of their countries. A week-long internship will let its participants plunge into the atmosphere our country live in, into its beautiful cultural world and learn a lot of interesting things.”
“Belarusians are people with a mark of quality, who know how to work, relax, give joy, good mood to those around them. We have very deep roots and a great history. We are proud of our cultural heritage, and it is important that we are open to the world. Guests who come here with good intentions are always welcome. Events like these bring our people together. They help us find the right way out in the most difficult situation, draw the conclusion that will not allow us to turn our eyes away from each other when we meet. Belarus is a wonderful place where we want to work, share experiences, and we are absolutely open to such a conversation,” Anatoly Markevich said.
The culture minister presented awards to active representatives of the Belarusian diaspora.
The creative internship for the leaders of amateur artistic groups and public organizations of the Belarusian diaspora kicked off on 4 April. It is attended by 28 people from Estonia, Ukraine, Argentina, Latvia, Armenia, Lithuania, Jordan and other countries.
The Center of National Cultures has been organizing creative internships since 2016. These events are used to study Belarusian traditions, rituals, songs, dances, hold master classes in arts and crafts. All this helps popularize Belarusian culture abroad.
