Days of Belarusian Culture in Turkey on 30 October - 4 November

01.11.2016

The State Dance Company of Belarus led by People’s Artist of Belarus Valentin Dudkevich will give concerts in the cities of Ankara and Eskisehir. The company has already performed to Turkish audiences. Residents of the Turkish cities will also be invited to visit the Belarus Today photo exhibition arranged by the Belarusian news agency BelTA.

The exhibition will feature 41 photos about different aspects of life in Belarus: landmark events in the relations between Belarus and Turkey and the country’s achievements in industry, defense and social sector. The culture and art relations between Belarus and Turkey are currently regulated by the agreement between the governments of the two countries on cooperation in education, science, culture and sports, and also by the protocol of cooperation in culture and art between the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. The countries are carrying out the 2015-2017 action plan to implement this protocol of cooperation.

Belarusian folk music and dance groups, such as the State Dance Company of Belarus led by People’s Artist of Belarus Valentin Dudkevich, the folk dance company Chabarok and the dance group Grodnenskiye Kruzheva (Grodno Lace) of Grodno State College of Art, are frequent guests in Turkey. Apart from that, the National History Museum of Belarus established ties with the Sakip Sabanci Museum of Istanbul in 2015. The Turkish museum is dedicated to calligraphic art, religious and state documents.

Вelarus’ National History Museum has invited to discuss a possibility of holding a joint exhibition project in 2018.
