Exhibits of Oman's National Museum to go on show in Minsk
The National Art Museum of Belarus is preparing a big international exhibition project in collaboration with the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman, BelTA learned from academic secretary of the National Art Museum Svetlana Aneiko.
"The tentative name of the project is "Oman: the Gem of the Orient". The exhibition will run from 19 September through 19 January. The exhibits will be on display in the halls of our oriental exposition. It will showcase about a hundred exhibits dating back to the 20th - 21st centuries. These will be costumes, fabrics, ceramics and probably weapons. This will be a great showcase event for arts and crafts of this oriental country. We are also working on a large program for adults and children," she said.
Svetlana Aneiko emphasized that this project is not commercial. Regular tickets will be valid for admission to the Oman exhibition. "I hope that the Belarusian public will want to learn more about Oriental art and see exclusive exhibits," she added.
An exhibition dedicated to People's Artist of Belarus Aleksandr Kishchenko will open in September. "We will try to make a big retrospective exposition covering all aspects of the artist's work. The exhibition will feature paintings from the museum's holdings and works provided by his family. This exhibition will be an extensive survey of all the genres and styles favored by the artist," the academic secretary informed.
A project about Russian-French artist originating from Belarus Nadia Khodasevich Leger is also due in September. "We hope to show paintings and graphics that are held in private collections in France. These works have never been displayed in Belarus before, because they were created in France and kept there by her heirs. We will try to bring here works of various genres, including the one inspired by the image of Lenin," Svetlana Aneiko informed.
The National Art Museum will take part in the 4th addition of the National Museum Forum due in Brest on 4-6 October.
The museum is developing a virtual guide using AR technology. "Visitors often get lost in the museum's halls, therefore we decided to develop a mobile application offering several itineraries," Svetlana Aneiko said.
