Lukashenko: Slavianski Bazaar is large-scale world-class project uniting peoples and cultures
No matter how the West tries to separate our country with an iron curtain, guests from Europe and other continents continue to come to Belarus – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at the opening ceremony of the 31st Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts
“Tickets for concerts are on sale, hotels are overcrowded,” noted the Head of State. “Today, here, as always, there are true friends next to the Belarusians, who share our position and outlook on life. Believe me, we value this very much in Belarus! Thank you so much for this!”
Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked everyone who stood at the origins of the festival, who have been organising the holiday all these years and giving people their creativity.
“Together we have created a large-scale world-class project that unites peoples and cultures, demonstrates our common historical choice, our national dignity,” the Head of State said. “The Slavianski Bazaar has long gone beyond the scope of a cultural event. The fact that political passions constantly flare up around it is another confirmation of this. I am grateful to all the participants of the festival, who boldly and proudly came to represent the culture of their country. The future of the world must be in the hands of people like you. Peace, which, I believe, will overcome the challenge to humanity! Belarusians, Russians, Ukrainians, representatives of many other countries of the world will perform at the festival venues in Vitebsk.”
The President summarised, “The names of great Russians and other world classics will traditionally sound together here. As it should be in a modern highly developed and civilised society. New stars and small starlets will light up here again, and in the heart of every artiste there will live love for this stage, for this city, for these viewers who will believe in them and give a unique chance that opens the door to the world of art.”
