The grand opening of the exhibition "In Search of the Lost. Return" took place at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, prepared on the basis of materials from the personal collection of the famous Belarusian historian and researcher Vladimir Alekseevich Likhodedov.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Marat Sergeevich Markov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Stepanovich Karanik, Vladyka Veniamin, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
In his speech, Marat Sergeevich Markov emphasized the enormous value, uniqueness and significance for our country of the collection of historical and cultural values lost during the Great Patriotic War and in other periods and returned to the Republic of Belarus, presented at the exhibition.
The head of the ministry called on Belarusians to take part in the construction of the National Museum and to share artifacts of historical value so that many people could see them.
Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Stepanovich Karanik presented to Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Marat Sergeevich Markov a certificate certifying the transfer as a gift to the National Museum of Belarus of the Banner of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic of the 1939 model — a symbol of the resilience and unity of the Belarusian people.
The priceless rarity was discovered during the implementation of the project "Batkaushchyna — In Search of the Lost. Return" by its author — historian, researcher, laureate of the Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "For Spiritual Revival" Vladimir Alekseevich Likhodedov.
