The intangible element "Wedding Traditions" in the village of Dzerzhinsk, Lelchitsy District, Gomel Region, has received the status of a historical and cultural value

On September 28, 2026, a meeting of the Belarusian Republican Scientific and Methodological Council on Historical and Cultural Heritage was held. The meeting considered the issue of granting the status of historical and cultural value to the intangible element "Wedding Traditions" in the village of Dzerzhinsk, Lelchitsy District, Gomel Region.
Following the review, the council adopted a positive decision to grant the aforementioned intangible element the status of historical and cultural value.
This element represents a complex of traditional wedding rites and customs that are preserved and passed down by local residents from generation to generation. Its inclusion in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus will contribute to the further preservation, study and popularization of unique heritage.
