The play of the Belarusian playwright won the main nomination of the international competition
284 plays by 201 authors from 23 countries were accepted for the Badenweiler-2022 competition: Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Israel, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Portugal, Russia, USA, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, Montenegro, Czech Republic and Estonia.
According to Timofey Ilyevsky, the victory in the competition was a pleasant surprise. “The play was written in the post-COVID period in May 2020. It is rather a phantasmagoria, which to some extent turned out to be a parable that coincided with what is happening now in the world. Therefore, they probably paid attention to it,” the playwright commented on the news.
