Vytoki in Glubokoye kicks off in style
The sports and cultural festival "Vytoki. A Step Towards the Olympus" kicked off in Glubokoye with a press tour and a sports festival, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.
“It is symbolic that on International Olympic Day, participants and journalists became spectators of a sports flash mob from the Glubokoye District Children's and Youth Sports School - “Olympic Day - Sports for All!” The atmosphere of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games with all the mandatory attributes was recreated at the stadium in Glubokoye,” the press office of the NOC said.
The children enjoyed being part of the flash mob, were happy to see how the Olympic flame was lit, and said goodbye to the Olympic bear flying into the sky in balloons - a symbol of future victories and high achievements.
“This is a holiday of Olympism, a holiday of victories, a holiday of sports. Our Children's and Youth Sports School is hosting a recuperation camp for 80 children who have decided to take part in the festival. Almost all students of our sports school are involved here - about 220 people, and in total there are 275 children in our school. Most of of them will be volunteers at the volleyball, Greco-Roman wrestling, and athletics sites,” director of the school Vladimir Buko said.
