Four-meter banner of Hetman Krzysztof Radziwill will be displayed at Mir Castle for the first time. The exhibition at the Mir Castle Museum will feature original military banners

The international project Ultima ratio regum. Belarus in the Northern Wars of the Mid-17th – Early 18th Centuries is scheduled to open on 21 April.

One of the main objectives of the joint international project of the Mir Castle Museum and the National History Museum of Belarus, the Sela Birzai Region Museum (Lithuania), the Army Museum (Sweden) is to tell the story of the Northern Wars and especially the stories of people, societies, communities, states, military institutions, military culture and technologies, their close connections and mutual influence.

The preparations for the large-scale exhibition lasted for two years. The international project MOST and Goethe-Institut contributed a lot to the project. Original military banners from the Army Museum in Stockholm will be on display in Belarus for the first time.

The four-meter-large banner of Hetman Krzysztof Radziwill featuring the duke's coat of arms will have a special place at the exhibition. Visitors of the exhibition will have an opportunity to imagine the Mir Castle and its surroundings of the 17th-18th centuries. Besides, there will be a chance to learn more about the history of the Northern Wars at the exhibition featuring engraved portraits and battle scenes, plans and maps, medals and coins, banners and luxury things, rare military artifacts. The exhibition will stay open till 24 September.
